Our values and behaviours Why work with us

Your career journey with Riverside

Our eight recruitment principles

We recruit people who not only have the skills to succeed, but who also share our values and help strengthen our culture

We aim for high standards and make decisions based on merit, fairness and alignment with Our Riverside Way.

We keep our promises and communicate openly, honestly and with care throughout the recruitment process

We know every candidate deserves a respectful and transparent experience, as this is the start of their journey with us.

We recognise that choosing the right people is vital to delivering great services and being an inclusive, supportive place to work

That’s why our trained and well‑supported managers lead the process, ensuring fairness, consistency and high‑quality decision‑making.

We use more than just an interview to understand a candidate’s strengths

Our selection approach is designed to assess capability, behaviours and values so we make balanced, evidence‑based decisions.

We know that leadership requires skill, empathy and the right mindset

When recruiting managers, we look for people who can inspire trust, support colleagues and live our values every day.

We continuously measure outcomes and learn from feedback so we can improve our recruitment and selection processes

This helps us strengthen our approach, eliminate barriers and keep delivering a fair, accessible experience for all.

We use technology to make recruitment simpler, faster and more accessible

By improving our digital tools, we make it easier for candidates to apply and for hiring managers to make informed decisions.

We are committed to building a leadership team that reflects our workforce and the communities we serve

As part of our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, we take positive action to address under‑representation, including offering a guaranteed interview for candidates from ethnically diverse backgrounds applying for senior roles.
